The Torah and Science Research Institute ("TSRI," "we," "us," or "our"), founded by Dr. Yosef Wolf, operates the website at jewishastro.com. We are an outreach nonprofit, and we keep our handling of your information as simple and limited as the site itself. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus the basic technical data any website receives:

• Contact and newsletter details. If you use our contact form, you submit your name, email address, a subject, and your message. If you subscribe to the Torah UMaddah newsletter (hosted on Substack), you provide your email address to that platform.
• Basic server logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used for security and reliability, not to build a profile of you.

We do not require accounts, and there is no login, store, or payment processing on this site.

How we use it

We use the information you provide to:

• Respond to your messages and book lectures, Shabbaton scholar-in-residence programs, or research collaborations.
• Send the Torah UMaddah newsletter, if you have subscribed.
• Keep the site secure, diagnose technical problems, and understand basic traffic in aggregate.

How we share it

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that make this site work, and only as needed:

• Our website hosting and form-handling providers.
• Our email and newsletter platform (Substack) for delivering the newsletter you requested.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of TSRI and others.

This site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and it does not set non-essential cookies. We run no analytics, advertising, or third-party marketing scripts. Because nothing on this site requires consent for non-essential cookies, you will not see a cookie consent banner.

The site links out to third-party platforms such as YouTube, Substack, and LinkedIn. If you follow those links, the third party may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Your choices

You are in control of your information:

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or through your Substack account.
• Request access, correction, or deletion of the personal information you have submitted to us by contacting us using the form below.

Data retention

We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.
